In what can be termed as a follow-up action to the revocation order issued on Friday by Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State, some bulldozers were in the wee hours of Wednesday deployed to the social welfare house (Ile Arugbo) built by Late Dr. Olusola Saraki, father of immediate past Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki for possible demolition.

According to an eyewitness, Mr Onilemarun AbdulKareem, who spoke to INSIDER at about 1:06am this morning, the heavy equipments were accompanied by armed policemen.

InsightMedia has reported that Armed policemen have taken over the building on Tuesday.

The arrival of the bulldozers was said to have attracted residents in the neighborhood, who thronged to the scene to witness the supposed demolition of the property.

AbdulKareem, however, added that the equipments were later taken away from the area after people stormed the area in protest of the possible demolition.

“They left not long ago. We tried to get pictures but none was clear enough. They came with armed policemen. Maybe they left because of the way people started trooping out in their numbers”, he said.

The ex-Senate President was on Tuesday reported to have filed a lawsuit against the state government in a bid to reclaim the property, which is located on Plots 1, 3 and 5 Ilofa Road, GRA, Ilorin.

Saraki had earlier accused Governor Abdulrazaq of “crossing the line of decency” with his recent efforts to allegedly erase the legacies of his late father.
