Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo state on Friday disclosed he administration is planning to train “repentant internet fraudsters” otherwise known as yahoo boys on vocational skills in technology.
This was just as the governor stated that his administration had executed over 2,000 projects in the state since he was elected as in 2016.
Obaseki, who is seeking re-election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the September 19, 2020 governorship poll, disclosed this during a campaign tour in Egor local government area.
He said: “I will train young boys who use to do yahoo to work in our technology park. We will train them and clean them to become more useful to society. I have kept fate with residents of Egor local government area, following the reconstruction of the Benin Technical College.”
Obaseki said the College has more than 100 hectares of land which his administration had fenced round to prevent intruders.
The governor also pledged to transmit 50 Megawatts of energy from the Independent Power Plant at Ihovbo near Azura in Ikpoba-Okha local government area of the state to the remodelled Technical College via Ikpoba Hill.
