The leadership of Ifon-Orolu Progressives Union (IPU) has condemned the attack on Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun State by some hoodlums on Saturday.
The community expressed dismay at the attack on the governor in a statement jointly signed by the National President of IPU, Dr Olusegun Oyewo; the Asiwaju of Ifon-Orolu, Alhaji Asifat Olarinde and Hon. Paul Larinde.
While condemning the attack, the leaders noted that the Governor has always recognized the rights of citizens to peaceful protests within the ambits of the law and urged him to be neither deterred nor discouraged by the attack, but remain focused on the onerous task of running the state’s affairs.
The community leaders thanked God for sparing the life of the Governor and pledging the community’s loyalty. They also prayed that Allah should continue to shield the Governor from all ills and evil machinations now and in future.
