The Divisional Police Officer of Iyaganku police division, Ibadan, Alex Gwazarzah, has taken a fashion designer to court for giving his cloths to an apprentice to sew
The Police Public Relations Officer, Oyo State Command, Olugbenga Fadeyi, said, “Information from the DPO Iyaganku division, Alex Gwazarzah, states that it was agreed that the tailor would sew the cloths by himself, but he gave them to another person to sew.
Lukman Adeniyi (the fashion designer)said that the DPO assaulted him the day he went to deliver his clothes to him on the allegation that the clothes were not well made.
The fashion designer said, “The DPO slapped him even after that, he also collected all the 12 materials without paying the agreed payment which the sum of Sixty Thousand Naira.
On Saturday, November 1, “the DPO told me come for the money we agreed on, only for him to detain me spending a night in the cell.” He said.
He was reportedly released on bail on Monday, November 2, and charged to court on Tuesday.
Lukman Adeniyi was arraigned at Court 8, Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, in a case with suit number MI/881C/2020.
The DPO accused the defendant of damaging materials worth N181,000, which he handed over to him in September. “He came to deliver the clothes to me and I wasn’t satisfied with the quality of job he did which shows clearer that it was his apprentice that sew my clothes despite our agreement of not giving it to an apprentice.
The magistrate, Olajumoke Akande granted the defendant the sum of Fifty thousand Naira bail with two sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case for further hearing till November 17, 2020.
