The Leaders of civil servants in the State of Osun have directed their members to embark on indefinite strike action starting from Wednesday, 27th of December, 2017.

The directive was contained in a memo signed by the Chairmen and Secretaries of Nigeria Labour Congress, Jacob Adekomi and Rufus Adeyemi, Trade Union Congress Bowale Adekola and S. D. Koleoso and the Osun State Joint Public Service Negotiating Council, Bayo Adejumo and R. A. Oyegbami.

The statement reads in part “Consequently upon the refusal of the government of Osun State to accede to the demands of Workers and Pensioners as contained in our letter dated Tuesday 5th December, 2107, the workers of Osun State will be proceeding on indefinite strike action by Wednesday 27th December, 2017”.

“On this note, we enjoin all workers in Osun State to stay at home until otherwise directed by the Labour Leaders”
