Corps members currently undergoing their Orientation at Iseyin camp in the 2021 Batch A stream 2 service year have been advised to embrace Agriculture.
A representative of the Leventis Foundation, Mr Adeyemo Samson passed this advice to corps members in a lecture he delivered titled ” youth in Agriculture”
He enjoined the Corps Members to use the platform created by NYSC in collaboration with Leventis Foundation Nigeria to show case their potentials.
He explained to the corps members that the management of NYSC signed a memorandum of understanding with the Leventis Foundation Nigeria on training of Corps Members in Agricultural best practices.
Mr Adeyemo stated that the program was designed to empower corps members with vocational skills that would make them self-reliant and employers of labour after their service year.
According to him , “the training in the first segment would involve twenty five (25) selected corps members. He said they would run their training concurrently with their service year.
He however disclosed that opportunities are available for interested corps members who are not part of this selection after service year.
The Leventis representative who implored the corps members to take the training seriously also advised them to take advantage of the opportunity presented by the Scheme to the commitment of their empowerment.

The guest lecturer while commending the Director-General Brig.Gen Shuaibu Ibrahim for this initiative lauded the NYSC management for the introduction of Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development ( SAED) Program into the service year curriculum.
