Traditional Worshippers have called on Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun State and President Muhammadu Buhari to always ensure there’s equity and fairness in distribution of resources and positions.
This is just as the Traditional Worshippers under the aegis of Traditional Religion Worshippers Association of State of Osun called on decolonization of minds of individuals and more understanding towards the Iseese religion.
They made this call on Friday at the grand finale of 2021 Iseese Day held at the proposed secretariat of the association at Abere Osogbo.
Among those present at the event were Governor Gboyega Oyetola, who was represented by his Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Mr Simeon Obawale; Representative of Ooni of Ife, Chief Ifayemi Elebuibon, traditional worshippers across all local government areas of Osun State, foreign tourists, among others.
Speaking on the theme of the event, which is Decolonizing minds; Understanding misconceptions about traditional religion, President of TRWASO, Dr Oluseyi Atanda said this year’s event is aimed at bridging the gap and neutralizing the misconceptions about the Iseese religion.
Atanda also said the programme for this year is unique because it’s done on the ground of the proposed secretariat of TRWASO, adding works will commence within 100 days from the day of the event.
He called on state and federal government to ensure that there’s equity and fairness in distribution of the nation’s resources, stating that the perceived injustice is the root of challenges facing the country.
“We call on both State and Federal Governments to ensure there’s equity and fairness. The challenges facing the country are as a result of perceived injustice by some sections of the country.” Atanda said.
Also speaking, Governor Oyetola reiterated his commitment to continually creating peaceful atmosphere for every religion to thrive.
He also said he will continue to support the traditional religion worshippers across the State.
Oyetola later led other guests to unveil the 3D design of the proposed secretariat of TRWASO.
Different cultural groups entertained audience with thrilling traditional songs.
