Following alleged killing of an innocent soul in Ede, the Osun State Commissioner of Police, Olawale Olokode has disbanded the CP’s Tactical Team.

The team, led by one SP Omoyele, was on Saturday alleged of killing an innocent soul in Ede during the crisis that erupted among members of the People’s Democratic Party in the town.

Announcing the dissolution of the team on Sunday, the police public relations officer, SP Yemisi Opalola said all the team members have been directed to report to the State headquarters on Monday for redeployment.l, adding that the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) has launched investigation into the “unprofessional conduct of the disbanded team.

“The dissolution is with immediate effect and all personnel attached to the squad are to report to the State Headquarters for redeployment, while investigation has commenced at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID).

“The CP is using this medium to state that, this will serve as deterrent to other tactical squads in the Command, as the Command under his watch will not tolerate or condone any act that is unbecoming of a Police officer.”

Security sources said Omoyele was the man who was directly involved in the shooting of the man killed in Ede.

The deceased has been linked to All Progressives Congress as a staunch member.
