The Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke on Tuesday charged the people of Ede North, Ede South Egbedore, Ejigbo Federal Constituency on the need to be deliberate and decisive in reelecting the lawmaker representing theĀ constituency in the national assembly, Representative Bamidele Salam in the forthcoming general elections.
The Governor made this remarks while inaugurating Rep Bamidele Salam’s reelection campaign council at a leadership meeting of the People’s Democratic Party in the four local governments under Ede federal constituency held in Awo, the hometown of the lawmaker.
Governor Adeleke said the surest way to accelerate developmental plans of his administration in Osun State is to work with performing representatives of the people like Rep Bamidele Salam.
“The people of the state should take Atiku-Okowa presidential campaign project as a task that must be achieved in Osun State by voting massively for the PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and other National Assembly candidates in the State at the February 25 presidential and national assembly elections”, he reiterated.
“I commend the Awo-born federal parliamentarian for his unprecedented performance in his first stint in office as attested to by several constituents in and outside of the PDP, also appeal to other senatorial districts and the nine federal constituencies in the state to work assiduously towards giving the PDP a clean sweep in the coming polls”, he said.
The campaign council was chaired by a foremost leader of the party in the state and a former chairman of Ede South local Government, Dr Tokunbo Bashir Salami was thereafter inaugurated by the Governor.
Speaking at the well attended event, representative Bamidele Salam commended Governor Adeleke for his firm and meticulous handling of matters affecting the state since taking oath of office as Governor of the state on November 27 last year.
The Lawmaker pledged to maintain pace of his developmental initiatives both on his primary duties as a Lawmaker, as well as other areas through which he has been impacting lives in the constituency as representative of his people.
“I enjoin people across the four local governments not to underestimate enormous challenge of winning elections in the country, urging party leaders in the federal constituency to once again use the opportunity of the coming general elections to sustain the leading role the federal constituency has been playing in support for the PDP in the state” he enjoined.
While assuring the party of the campaign council’s readiness to deliver maximum votes for Rep Bamidele Salam and other candidates of the party, Dr Tokunbo Salami noted that their job has been made easy with the sterling performance of the Lawmaker so far in office.
In attendance at the meeting were the Deputy Governor of the state, Prince Kola Adewusi, Deputy Director General of the Atiku-Okowa Presidential Campaign Council, Professor Wale Oladipo and the PDP Senatorial Candidate in Osun West, Akogun Lere Oyewumi.
Other notable leaders at the meeting include PDP state assembly candidates in Ede South, Ede North, Egbedore and Ejigbo local governments, leader of the party in the federal constituency, Elder Sunday Akanfe Atidade, Alhaja Atinuke Oyawoye, Chief Kolade Adeleke, Prince Lere Laoye, Hon George Alabi amongst several PDP stalwarts.
