The Palace of Ataoja of Osogbo land, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun was agog on Sunday as members of Osun Economic Development Team commissioned projects within the Palace and also in the Oja Oba market.
The programme also served as an avenue to officially launch the Agboluaje Empowerment Scheme, which also empowered over hundred of small businesses owners with cash to boost their businesses.
The Osun Economic Development Team is led by renowned sons of Osogbo land, Engr. Kayode Adegbulugbe and Asiwaju Olusegun Akintade.
The event had the presence of Oba Oyetunji, Secretary to Osun State Government, Hon. Teslim Igbalaye, business mogul, Kehinde Raji, Chiefs of Ataoja, among other prominent personalities.
Speaking on behalf of the team, Asiwaju Akintade appreciated the Ataoja of Osogbo land for his immense support for the team. He said that everything is not about politics, we should support other without thinking of politics.
“I discovered things were not how it used to be in Oja Oba market. That was the reasons for Solar light within Lekuleja market, construction of pavement and Agboluaje Cooperative and Empowerment that we’re lunching here today.
“For Osogbo to progress, we need industrialization, people need to invest and people to trust. Today, we shall empower people with as huge as N600,000 per person. This we believe will go a long way in setting them up and boosting the economy of Osogbo land.
“We must specially appreciate the Kabiesi for his support. He demonstrated his zeal for the development of Osogbo land. We thank him for all his time during planing and execution of this project.” He said.
Asiwaju Akintade commended all team of the members, promised to support farmers, to make the produce impact the society, he urged the government to do more for the people, and to make Osogbo standard like other State Capitals.
While speaking at the event, SSG Igbalaye commended the Ataoja for believing in Adeleke’s administration. He said the incumbent administration in the State will do all it can to transform Osogbo.
“Being the first SSG from Osogbo land, from the history of Osun State, Osogbo have not never produced any SSG” he said.
An Osogbo-born business mogul, Engr Raji Kehinde stated that the team are ready to partner with any organization because he believes Govt cannot do it alone.
“Osogbo being the Capital of Osun State, it need a lots of support from people because the government alone cannot do it. The team are ready to collaborate with others for the growth of Osogbo land” Raji said.
The Chairman of AARAJ Group expressed his happiness over the Empowerment Scheme, adding that he has also commenced similar scheme aimed at boosting the local businesses in Osogbo.
One of beneficiaries, Ayoola Rasheed Akande, who expressed his excitement, appreciates the team for their support.
The programme lunching which includes: commisioning of Palace Chief meeting hall renovation, Face lifting of palace fence, Furnishing of the Kabiyesi Ataoja’s Office, solar light within Lekuleja market, the Ataoja Palace and the customary court, construction of pavement / walk way at Lekuleja market, empowerment of Men and Women, Agboluaje Cooperative and empowerment lunching, launching of Small and Medium Scale Empowerment at Isale Osun Osogbo by Asiwaju Olusegun Ayoola Akintade and Engr. Kayode Adegbulugbe.
