The Department of State Services has confirmed that suspended Governor of Central Bank, Godwin Emefiele is in its custody.
Peter Afunnaya, the Agency Spokesperson said in a statement on Saturday.
The statement reads, “The Department of State Services (DSS) hereby confirms that Mr Godwin Emefiele, the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is now in its custody for some investigative reasons.
“The public, particularly the Media, is enjoined to apply utmost caution in the reportage and narratives concerning this.”
Emefiele was suspended by President Bola Tinubu on Friday evening, following ongoing investigation into activities of the apex bank.
He was to hand over to Adebisi Shonubi, the Deputy Governor in charge of Operations.
