The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone XI Command Osogbo comprising Osun and Oyo States Commands, AIG Olanrewaju Yomi Oladimeji, reported and assumed duty at the Command Headquarters Osogbo on Monday, 3rd July, 2023.
According to a statement by CSP Ayeni Benjamin, the Public Relations Officer of the command, the new AIG assured residents of the safety of lives and properties.
He said “we have a mandate to secure life and property in our jurisdiction with the modern day policing system and global best standard and practice.
He also enjoined all officers and men must be disciplined and conform with laid down rules and regulations guiding their conduct to avoid running foul of the laws.
Oladimeji is a graduate of History and Political Science from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife was called to bar at Nigeria Law School Kano, joined the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police in 1990.
“He had his first posting to Edo State Police Command where he learnt the Core rudiments of interrogation, investigation and prosecution, he served in different capacities within the state as a Divisional Crime Officer, Divisional Traffic Officer, Police Public Relations Officer, The Divisional Police Officer in Ikpoba Hill, Auchi, Uromi and New Benin as well as the second in Command in Department of Operations, Edo State Command.
“He was later deployed to Ogun State Police Command in progression of his policing career where he served as Divisional Police Officer Mowe, Divisional Police officer Ilaro, Acting Area Commander Ilaro.
“AIG Olanrewaju Yomi Oladimeji advanced to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police and was deployed to Sokoto State Police Command as Assistant Commissioner of Police Department of Finance and Administration, later Benue State Police Command as Assistant Commissioner of Police Criminal Investigation Department. He further his police career to
Ebonyi State Police Command as Area Commander Metro Abakaliki.
“Having gained promotion to the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police, he was deployed to Borno State Police Command to supervise Department of State Criminal Investigation, he was later moved to Rivers State Police Command as the second in command and Deputy Commissioner of Police Department of Finance and Administration
“The new Zone XI Command Police Boss served in Force Criminal Investigation Department Annex Alagbon Lagos, as CP Anti Fraud Section and finally Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Police Command before his promotion to the enviable rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police which led to his deployment to Zone XI Command.
AIG Zone XI is Valorous, Vibrant, experienced, fearless, crime buster, iconic, he is audacious, he has seen and conquered, he is a Member, International Association of Chief of Police, Member Nigeria Bar Association as well as member Nigeria Institute of Public Relations.
