In another record-breaking display of gender equality, Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has appointed nine female into his cabinet of 18.
This represents 50% of the Commissioner slots given to the women in his second term of office.
The list released by the Assembly on Monday contained, which was signed by Sheu Abdulkadir Yusuf, the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, contained 18 nominees from the 16 local government areas.
The female nominees are Afolasade Opeyemi Kemi (Ekiti), Sa’adatu Kawu Modibo (Ilorin South), Hauwa Nuru (Ilorin West) Damilola Yusuf (Isin) and Bola Olukoju (Irepodun).
Others are Amina El-Imam (Offa), Mary Ayinde (Oke-Ero), Oloruntoyosi Thomas (Isin) and Olaitan Buraimoh (Oyun).
It would be recalled that the cabinet in Kwara Governor’s first term also had significant number of women.
