The Board Chairman, Osun State Water Corporation, Hon. Samuel Oyedotun has warned residents of the state to desist from encroachment and sales of lands belonging to Water Corporation or face the wrath of the law.

Hon Oyedotun who gave this warning during a working visit to the new Ede Waterworks stated that the government would no longer tolerate people encroaching on its property, stressing that a task force will be on the lookout to ensure government’s property is not tampered with.

The Board Chairman noted that it will not be business as usual with trespassers on government lands and properties as the agency will take legal action on such individuals.

He said “let me state categorically that government will no longer tolerate people encroaching on its property and a task force of the agency will be on the lookout to ensure government’s property is not tampered with.

“I am using this opportunity to warn those infringing on government land to have a rethink before it is too late for them, all land acquired by the agency remains the property of government and there is no room for any form of trespassing.”

Hon. Oyedotun stressed further that no matter how long the illegal occupants stays on the property, government would definitely recover its land at the appropriate time.

In the same vein, the Commissioner for Water Resources, Hon Sunday Oroniyi warned the illegal occupant not to take the government for granted.

He therefore warned that, government would not hesitate to allow the law to take its full course , if those engaged in the activity remained recalcitrant.
