In a desperate plea for assistance, the National Association of Osun State Students, Bayero University Kano Chapter (NAOSS-BUK), has issued a distress call as 30 of their members teeter on the brink of dropping out of school due to financial constraints.

The crisis stems from a staggering 200% increase in school fees, leaving only a handful of students able to meet the financial demands. With the school portal scheduled to close on September 10th, a mere four days remain to rescue these students from the precipice.

The heartfelt appeal has been directed at various stakeholders, including the Osun state government under the leadership of Governor Ademola Adeleke, Senators, House of Representatives members, and influential figures, imploring them to extend a lifeline to these struggling students.

Mutiu Adepoju, the President of NAOSS-BUK, revealed that despite their best efforts, they have fallen short of the required funds. A total of Two million naira (2,000,000) was needed to secure these students’ education. In a show of solidarity, they managed to raise Three hundred and fifty thousand naira (350,000), leaving a daunting One million, six hundred and fifty thousand naira (1,650,000) deficit.

Adepoju urged everyone to come together and prevent these students from dropping out of school. He also reminded that with collective effort and faith, even the most dire situations can be overcome.
