The Ogun State Police Command is actively pursuing Joseph Nwakpe and accomplices following allegations of theft and diversion of Knorr seasoning products valued at N40.6 million.

According to sources within the police, Nwakpe and his associates were entrusted by Lap Global Resource’s transport manager, Pedro Okanlawon, with the task of delivering 2,085 cases of Knorr seasoning from Agbara to Onitsha and Port Harcourt.

The delivery was being made via a custom-colored Mercedes Benz truck with registration number 3364N244722, bearing the inscriptions “Never give up” and “Ifeomachukwu” on the front view.

Despite numerous attempts by Okanlawon to contact Nwakpe and his group, they remained unreachable, prompting him to file a formal complaint with the police in Agbara.

Following a police investigation, the truck’s driver, Danladi Suleiman from the Ayetoro area of Agbara/Badagry Expressway, was apprehended on September 5, 2023.

Omolola Odutola, the state Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the incident and stated that while the arrested driver has confessed to the crime, the investigation is ongoing.
