In a tragic incident in Minna, Niger State, a man named Mallam Umar Tasiu lost his life after suffering severe injuries received from his ex- in-laws.
According to an anonymous neighbor who spoke to City & Crime, Umar Tasiu had visited his two children, who resided with his former wife at her father’s house. Despite their separation, the children stayed with their mother. Allegedly, his former in-laws were against his presence and forcibly restrained and flogged him, leading to his tragic death. Umar Tasiu’s lifeless body was returned to his home on Saturday night, and he was laid to rest on Sunday at approximately 10 am.
However, the police department offered a different account. According to DSP Wasiu Abiodun, the victim succumbed to injuries sustained during an attack by unknown hoodlums in Minna. Umar Tasiu was attacked on the night of October 21, 2023, and endured severe injuries. He was swiftly taken to the IBB Specialist Hospital in Minna but tragically passed away. The case is currently under investigation, and efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend the individuals responsible for the attack.
