This week has been a week of endorsements for the candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Irepodun/Orolu state constituency for 2019 election, Hon. Nasirudeen Babatunde Olateju.
The endorsements and public declaration of supports started with the APC women in Irepodun who did not only express their commitment but also promised to go out en mass to campaign for the APC flagbearer.
The added that their avowed commitment to Olateju is stemmed from his sterling performance as the chairman of Irepodun local government between 1999 to 2003.
In his response, Olateju thanked the women for the it r commitment and relentless support for the APC and promised to surpass his achievements As Council chairman when elected to represent the constituency at the State Assembly.
Also during a meeting with the leadership and members of Muslim Students Society of Nigeria, Elders wing, Olateju stated that his mission is to give the best representation to the people of the three communities that make up the constituency.
He equivocally stated that his political ideology is all about fairness, justice and fairness to everyone regardless of their affiliations.
He said, “As a Chairman of the Irepodun local government, I operated on the principle of equity and justice for all. May I still tell you that this has not changed. As a believer, what I do look up to is the day I will account for whatever I do.
“My mission is to give the people of Irepodun/Orolu state constituency the best representation ever. To be their mouthpiece and advocate at the state level in order to ensure that all our dividends are brought to us.
He also urged the people to support the candidate of the APC in all elections stating that they remain the best to uplift the country.
“I also want to tell you that our presidential candidate, President Muhammadu Buhari, our Osun Central senatorial district candidate, Dr Ajibola Basiru and House of Representatives, Hon. Bukola Oyewo are the best you can vote for as we all look forward to a more prosperous Nigeria,” he said.
Speaking earlier, the Amir of MSSN, Mallam Moshood Ibrahim highlighted the motive behind their endorsement of Olateju’s candidacy which according to him is informed by his achievements as Council boss and community leadership.
Mallam Ibrahim stated that the society will mobilize all its members to vote for Olateju and other candidates of the APC in the coming polls.
He said, “This society is one of the best in terms of population density and we have resolved to publicly identify with you you (Olateju) on this course.
“Our reason is simple and it all boils down to your tracked record as our chairman in Irepodun local government.
“We urge you to give the constituency the best representation. All we need from you is to fulfil your electoral promises as we believe you’re there already. We have the confidence in leadership charisma and integrity you’ve shown in the past and we believe you remain the best to represent us”, Ibrahim concluded.
