The Osun State Health Insurance Agency has commenced orientation for healthcare service providers newly introduced OHIS digital platform.
The event took place in Osogbo on Monday.
In his remark at the event, the Executive Secretary of OSHIA, Dr Rasaq Akindele, spoke on the Agency is upgrading its equipment and services to match the global trends.
He said “we are stepping up our monitoring and evaluation process by ensuring that officers often by doing the right thing. We’re keen on delivering international best standards by ensuring systems are upgraded and global trends are followed.”
“We have successfully integrated a feature into our database where enrolled members’ pictures and names are stored. This ensures that during any interaction or service delivery, the individual’s identity can be verified instantly, mitigating the risk of impersonation.”
Speaking further, Akindele said the system will enhance efficiency and minimize delays, stating that “we have revamped our code delivery process. Codes will now be promptly provided upon request, as long as the diagnosis aligns with recognized conditions, eliminating unnecessary waiting times.”
“As part of our commitment to meeting evolving needs, we have expanded our service scope to accommodate additional elements. We aim to reach more areas of importance as we receive increased funding and adjust tariffs to reflect economic realities.”
Service providers were taken through the process of using the digital tools during the workshop.
