The All Progressives Congress has won sixty four seats in the Senate during the last National Assembly elections held on Saturday, February 23 while the opposition Peoples Democratic Party won forty seats, Young Progressives Party claimed a seat with four yet to be decided by Independent National Electoral Commission.

One senatorial seat each  in Imo, Taraba and two in Plateau are yet to be decided by INEC.

The APC had the bulk of its seats in the North West as it claimed 20 of 21. The party also won fourteen out of eighteen in the South West, three in South South and two in South East.

Twelve seats were won in the North central by the ruling and 14 in the North East.

PDP had its bulk in the South South with 15 seats. 11 out of 15 in the South East. It also secured four seats in the North-East and three seats in the South-West.

YPP won its only seat in Anambra State.
