Nollywood stars converged on The Hall on Victoria Island, Lagos, during the week for the premiere of a MultiChoice TV series titled, My Fairytale Wedding.
Attendees were treated to the first episode of the series, which was produced by ChiChi Nworah. The movie centers on a 29-year-old woman who resorts to the use of kayanmata (love potion) in a desperate attempt to find love.
Speaking at the premiere, Nworah stated that she wanted to create something relatable about love.
On her part, Ini Edo, who played one of the major characters in the series, remarked that the storyline will resonate with many young women of marriageable age.
The Executive Head of Content Channels, West Africa, at MultiChoice, Busola Tejumola, who was also present at the event, stated that the film aligns with Africa Magic’s mission to continuously tell relatable stories.
“It has been a year of weddings and I’m particularly excited to announce the next big union to look forward to. My Fairytale Wedding offers a glimpse into a tale of love with a sprinkle of magic, but not in the way you expect. With an amazing cast, this is a show you cannot afford to miss,” she said.
Other actors present at the premiere included Ayo Mogaji, Bisola Aiyeola, Lilian Esoro, Caroline Hutchings and Uzo Arukwe, among others.
