It was a colorful and exciting ceremony in Ilobu as residents, children of the community gathered together at the Erinle festival.
The festival which marked a huge importance in the history of Ilobu community was held on Sunday.
While emphasizing the importance of the festival, the Olobu of Ilobu, Oba Ashiru Olatoye Olaniyan advised youths of Ilobu community and beyond to be good ambassadors of good behaviour and morals.
Citing Prince Nureni Araoye and the lawmaker of the Osun State House of Assembly as good examples, the monarch advised that the youths in all the communities should support one another and be of good behaviours.
“I implore you to be ambassadors of good character, as you can see Araoye, look at his footsteps, he has done so well for the community of Ilobu to aid its development”, he added.
The monarch also praised the lawmaker representing Irepodun Constituency, Hon Adekunle Oladimeji for his good works. “He is our representative both at Erin, Ifon and Ilobu communities, and he’s representing us well.”
The Monarch offered prayers at the shrine and prayed for the progress and growth of the Ilobu community.
Prince Nureni Araoye, one of the princes of Ilobu, who spoke with our correspondent emphasized the importance of the festival to the community of Ilobu while offering prayers for the community.
The festival was filled with colourful attires, traditional troupe dancers who graced occasions.
Masquerade was also on display as Chiefs, tourists, cultural enthusiasts and traditional worshipers marked the festival in fanfare.
