The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Lucky Aiyedatiwa as the winner of the November 16 governorship elections held in Ondo State.

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has cleared all 18 local government area while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) came second.

The returning officer, Prof Olayemi Akinwunmi, made the declaration on Sunday afternoon in Akure, the capital city.

“That Lucky Aiyedatiwa of the All Progressives Congress, having satisfied the requirements of the law, is hereby declared the winner and returned elected.” Akinwunmi said.

The returning officer also declared that Aiyedatiwa scored 366,781 votes while Alfred Agboola Ajayi of the PDP garnered 117,845.
