Senate President Godswill Akpabio has called on President Bola Tinubu to address defiant ministers in his administration who ignore invitations from the National Assembly.

Akpabio stated that such behavior is undemocratic and that such ministers should not hold positions in Tinubu’s government.

He made this statement on Wednesday during President Tinubu’s presentation of the 2025 budget estimates, totaling ₦49.7 trillion, before a joint session of the National Assembly.

Addressing the full assembly of both the Senate and the House of Representatives, Akpabio emphasized that ministers who disregard the legislature’s invitations lack democratic values and should be excluded from the cabinet.

“Those who disregard invitations by the National Assembly are not democratic and therefore have no place in your government,” Akpabio remarked.
