The premier university health institution, University College Hospital, Ibadan has unveiled actor, producer and director, Saidi Balogun as its ambassador.

The unveiling was done during the week-long 60th anniversary of the institution in Ibadan.

The Ibadan-born actor now hold the ace as the first ambassador of health institution in Nigeria.

Speaking at the event, Balogun was full of gratitude to God and all the staff and management of UCH for the great work they did in ensuring that he does not just stay alive but well and complete without being confined to any form of disability after his terrible accident in the year 2006.
“I will never forget when the then CMD came to me after I regained consciousness. He asked me if I had faith in Nigerian doctors and nurses and the facilities available at the hospital. I told him I did. At the time, arrangements had been made to fly me abroad for some delicate surgeries but the doctors at UCH carried out all the delicate surgeries and here I am today”, he said.

He expressed his delight and appreciation for the ambassadorial role given to him and promises to do everything with his capacity to promote the health sector. He added that he and his team are working round the clock to establish an NGO that will be named ‘Saidi Balogun Foundation for Accident Victims’ which will be taking care of accident victims across the country.
