Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke has declared support to the aspiration of Tajudeen Abass to become the Speaker of the 10th House of Representatives.
This is as the Governor appealed to the incoming leadership of the House to support the ongoing MKO Abiola International Airport project in Ido-Osun by appropriating funds for the project.
Adeleke made the declaration on Wednesday when he received the delegation of the Lawmakers-elect led by Abbas at his office in Osogbo.
He said, “I want to state that we are going to support you. But we also seek support of the House for appropriation of funds for our ongoing airport project. This will open up Osun to the world.”
Adeleke also implored Abbas to respect the decision of the People’s Democratic Party in the zoning of the minority positions in the House.
“We respect and support the APC zoning formula, kindly ensure you support the zoning by the PDP in the House.”
Speaking earlier, Abbas said his delegation was in Osun to congratulate the Governor on his victory at the Supreme Court, promising that the 10th House of Representatives under his watch will be a pan-Nigerian House.
“We’re here to firstly congratulate you on your victory at the Supreme Court. It shows that your people elected you.
“My brother, Hon. Benjamin Kalu and I have been anointed by the our party, the APC to be the Speaker and Deputy and we’re here to seek your support for actualization of this project.”
Present at the meeting were House of Representatives Members-elect from Osun State. They are Bamidele Salam, Busayo Oluwole Oke, Marufu Adebayo Adewale, Lanre Oladebo and Taofeek Ajilesoro.
