‘All men of good conscience must rise against appointment of Omoyele as Adeleke’s CSO’

Members of the Osun Masterminds, a civil society organization in Osun State have called on journalists, opinion makers and every person of good conscience to rise against the appointment of CSP Isaac Omoyele as the Chief Security Officer to Governor Ademola Adeleke.

The Osun Masterminds raised the concerns on Tuesday during its December edition of the State of the State address, delivered in Osogbo.

Speaking with newsmen, members of the group, Ayo Ologun and Idowu Oladapo said the secret deployment of a man who has been heavily indicted by different judicial panels including the popular EndSARS Panel as CSO to Adeleke is a cause of worry for every residents.

Oladapo said, “Taking it from where the last person stopped, the sole purpose why Omoyele is retained by the Adelekes to is unknown. For a government that loves the people, if a man has been indicted by a panel of enquires, that high panel that served on police brutality, and a man has been that indicted, if you love the people, you don’t need to be told that such a man should be stayed clear of your government.

“Is Omoyele the only police officer in osun State? Is he the only officer known to PDP members and Adeleke family? Why must they stick to him? And it is on paper not written by us by different people. If journalists who poke thier noses into issues, know this much, and they have decided to retain such person as CSO, everyone residing in Osun should be concerned.”

The duty of holding Omoyele to account and holding Governor Ademola to account on this irresponsible appointment is that all men of goodwill in this state should rise to do.

“We at the Osun Masterminds wil continue. we will not stop. However, to report this till it gets to the adequate headquarters , retaining such a man is inappropriate for such post.”

Speaking further, the group alleged Governor Adeleke of plotting to silence dissenting voices in the State. It added that one of their aides has divulged their plans to the public via a Facebook post.

“Better be careful how you write your stories concerning this government because they are already coordinating the gang that will attack those of us with dissenting voices against their government.

“That has been made public by one of the media men of the PDP social team, who issued a threat on members of Osun Masterminds in public. Although it’s not new to us, but this confirms the rumour that we’ve been hearing that those of us who belong to this group should watch out backs. While we go to bed, we should watch our families.

“The truth of the matters remains, we remain undefeated. Nobody can cow us ,the duty we owe is to the people of Osun, if those in government who are trusted with resources have refused to owe the power entrusted to them by the people, we will not keep quiet.”
