Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has urged departing pilgrims to this year’s Hajj in Saudi Arabia to be good ambassadors of the State and Nigeria.

The governor urged them to pray for the security and economic revival of Nigeria during the holy pilgrimage.
Addressing the 1,835 intending pilgrims, which is the highest in the history of Osun State, at a farewell programme organised for them, which was held at State Secretariat Mosque Complex Abere,the Governor observed that the economic hardship and insecurity confronting the country require the concerted prayers of all and sundry.
Adeleke, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Teslim Igbalaye, appreciated the efforts of the management of the Osun State Muslims Pilgrims Welfare Board in facilitating the arrangements so far.
He also prayed the Almighty Allah to crown their efforts with a resounding success,alerting that the State Government will not tolerate any lapses during the Hajj operation.
In his words of admonition to the intending   Hajj pilgrims, the Governor said:  “As i am thankful to Allah for allowing this record to be set under my administration, i am equally thanking the Almighty Allah, on behalf of you, our esteemed Pilgrims,for counting you worthy of partaking in this year’s Hajj operation despite the significant rise in the cost. I pray that Allah wi inll continue to enrich your pockets and accept your Hajj as an act of worship”.
Recounting the level of preparation for the pilgrimage, the number one citizen in the State said, “On the part of the Osun State Government, we have done everything necessary towards making this exercise a memorable one for you, both onshore and offshore. I am aware that all necessary vaccinations have been administered and arrangements have also been made for your smooth transportation to the Hajj Terminal of the Muritala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja. I am also aware that the State Government has equally secured an accommodation that is very close to the Ground Mosque in Makkah in a bid to make your stay comfortable in Saudi Arabia. Likewise, adequate preparations have been made towards ensuring that you are served with quality meals throughout your stay in Makkah”.
Senator Adeleke congratulated the  intending Pilgrims for making the journey and pray that all of them will return home to their families safe and sound.
In his welcome address, Amirul-Hajj of Osun State, Sheik Morufu Ishola thanked  Governor Adeleke for the support given to the Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, he also urged all pilgrims to abide with the instructions given to them while in the Holy Land.
