In a groundbreaking move, Beyond Vision, a leading drone manufacturer specializing in cutting-edge AI algorithms and a revolutionary Cloud UAV management platform, has unveiled the Rural Environmental Monitoring via ultra-wide ARNet And distributed Federated Learning (REMARKABLE) project. In collaboration with European academic partners, corporate entities, and African academic groups, the REMARKABLE project responds to the oversight of rural areas in the advancements of IoT and data analytics. Rural communities are often left at a disadvantage in the face of thriving urban technology, accentuating the digital divide.
To address this concern, the REMARKABLE project aims to bridge technological disparities through strategic partnerships with esteemed academic institutions. Collaborating with Summit University, Offa (SUN, Offa), and the Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMINNA), Beyond Vision focuses on the unique challenges faced by rural areas in Africa, particularly concerning connectivity hurdles. The emphasis is on leveraging transformative technologies, such as Internet of Things (IoT) and machine learning (ML), to make these systems more accessible, energy-efficient, and secure.
This collaboration led to key officials from Beyond Vision visiting these institutions, culminating in a two-day workshop at Summit University, Offa, and the Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMINNA). The workshops, held under the themes “Unlocking the Future: Advanced UAV Technologies” and “Unlocking the Future with the Convergence of AI and Drones Technology,” showcased the commitment of these institutions to pioneering technology.
