BREAKING: Tension in Ife as renewed clash with Modakeke leaves six dead


There is a palpable in Ile-Ife, Osun State following the renewed communal clash between Ile-Ife and Modakeke.

No fewer than six persons have been killed in the clash that started at a village late on Thursday. It was was gathered that six persons, all from Modakeke were killed at the village.

InsightMedia gathered that the youths of Modakeke, who were angered by the development took the corpses to the palace of Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi on motorcycles on Friday. They were however, rebuked by the people of Ife who prevented them from entering the Palace.

Another crisis ensued at the Palace gate leading to destruction of properties.

InsightMedia also gathered that the Commissioner of Police in Osun State, Olawale Olokode is currently in Ile-Ife trying to restore normalcy.
