Osun State Government has declared 24-hours curfew in Irepodun and Orolu local government areas following the crisis between Ilobu and Erin-osun.

The crisis which started on Saturday has reportedly claimed no fewer than three lives in both communities, while several houses have been vandalized.

Our Correspondents who observed the situation reported that there’s a palpable tension in both communities. It was gathered that earlier on Sunday, the clash was highly bloody with deaths recorded from both sides.

At the palace of both Olobu and Elerin, angry youth gathered to have glance at the dead bodies or injured ones brought from the battlefield.

However, Ismail Omipidan, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Gboyega Oyetola told our Correspondent on phone that the governor has declared 24-hours curfew in the two local government areas.

He said the Governor has earlier on Sunday met with heads of security agencies, where he directed reinforcement into the areas and ordered the curfew.

Security agencies, most Police and men of Nigerian Army have taken over major routes into the communities. They were sighted at Ojutu bridge and at the entrance of Erin-osun along Hassan Arogundade road.

Evacuation

Following sporadic gunshots and vandalization of houses around Ire-Akari to Gbonamu both in Ilobu, residents of the areas were evacuated to a safer place in the town.

One of the residents who spoke with our reporters said the gun shot was too heavy and that they had to run for their lives.
