The Osun State House of Assembly has suspended legislative activities for two weeks in other to disinfect the assembly complex.

A statement by the Chairman of Osun State House Committee on Media and Publicity, Kunle Akande, noted that the suspension was part of the proactive measures targetted at containing the COVID-19 in compliance with the World Health Organisation and the state protocol on the containment of the virus.

Akande said disinfection of the House of Assembly complex will begin immediately.

Also speaking further on the suspension of the house, the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Kunle Alabi said the exercise is a normal routine activity as government house complex has also been disinfected recently.

He debunked the rumour that a member of the house has tested positive, stating that legislative works will resume after two weeks.
