Governor of the State of Osun, Mr Gboyega Oyetola has assured the people of Ilobu in Irepodun local government and the entire of his administration’d commitment towards giving people quality service and dividends of democracy.

Oyetola stated this in Ilobu during the 27th Ilobu Day Celebration held on Saturday, November 9th.

Represented by the Commissioner for Works and Transport, Engr Remi Omowaiye, the governor applauded the diligent contributions of Ilobu sons and daughters to the development of the state and the nation at large.

He added that among his priorities is to in the state is given what he deserves and that accounted for the restoration of the unjust removal of Ilobu wards and addition of two as compensation.

He said, “Giving the people of Ilobu the good life has been a priority to us in the eleven months the we assumed office as we have striven to provide services and projects to the llobu community and the people of Irepodun Local Government Area

“You will all recall that the military government slashed the eight wards in Ilobu to six during the dark days of NADECO. Our Administration corrected that obvious error by initial reverting it to eight and we further increased it to ten later to boost political participation your people who are noted for their huge political awareness.”

Oyetola said his government is collaborating with the federal to ensure that ongoing rehabilitation works on Ilobu-Osogbo road is completed as soon as possible and the state will also rehabilitate rural roads linking to Ilobu to open up marked for farmers.

Earlier in his address, the National President of Ilobu-Asake Development Union, Alh Dauda Adebisi-Balogun appreciated the governor for the four wards added to Ilobu, describing it as restoration of lost glory.

He called on the State Government to ensure speedy work is done on the ongoing road and bridge constructions in

“We are using this opportunity to mention the ongoing rehabilitation of Ilobu-Osogbo Road and the construction of the new Ojutu Bridge. We appeal passionately to both the State and Federal Government to assist in bringing the
projects into completion soonest. God assist us.

Reeling out his achievements so far, the IDU President said, “In our drive towards an all inclusive administration, we have worked coordinately with notable Ilobu sons and daughters abroad and which has wielded the formation of Ilobu Asake Development Union Branch in the Diaspora. This has got our people abroad to be actively involved in the developmental process at home.

“They have always been up and doing, may God continue to help them and all of us. It is highly imperative to also call for unity amongst the political elites. Politics should UNITE us and not DIVIDE us. Our political strength is so thick and strong if only we can pull it together and explore this strength for he growth of our community and the good people of Ilobu.”

In his royal address, the Olobu of Ilobu, Oba Ashiru Olatoye Olaniyan called on all political office holders in Ilobu to be United and work together to take Ilobu to a greater heights.

The monarch, who was visibly happy, prayed for the success of Governor Oyetola who he described as his son.

Among important personalities at the event are The Deputy Chief of Staff (General Administration) Barr Mikhail Adejare Adebisi, Commissioner for Environment, Sola Oladepo, Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Yemi Lawal, Senator representing Osun West Adelere Oriolowo, Former NASS Member Ijesha South, Ajibola Famurewa, OSHA Member Nasiru Olateju, Irepodun LG Chairman, Abayomi Oyedeji, Special Adviser to the Governor on Health, Siji Olamiju and many others.

Donations were made for the developmental projects in Ilobu.
