The Federal Government has reassured Nigerians that the 2023 elections will take place, despite recent security concerns across the country.
This assurance was made by the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, at a presentation of President Muhammadu Buhari’s scorecard series.
He stated that the Government’s position has not changed and that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is working with security agencies to ensure the elections are held peacefully.
This reassurance comes after a rise in attacks on INEC offices and other security-related incidents across the country.
The INEC had previously expressed concerns about the security situation and its potential impact on the 2023 elections.
