For the first time in months, the former governor of Osun State and Interior Minister, Ogbeni Rauf Aregebesola was in the State on Thursday to hold meeting with the State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola and leader of the All Progressives Congress, Chief Bisi Akande.

Aregbesola arrived Ila-Orangun, the country home of the former Governor Akande and was joined by Oyetola and the national leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

In a statement on the official social media handle of Aregebesola, he said he arrived Osun State with his entourage from the Ministry of Interior to begin his Stakeholders’ Engagement meeting with different stakeholders in the state as directed by President Muhammadu Buhari.

He further stated that he paid a courtesy visit to Chief Bisi Akande alongside with Governor Oyeotola in Ila Orangun.

He revealed that Chief Akande advised them on #EndSARS, insecurity amongst other issues.

It would be recalled that due to alleged controversy during second year anniversary of the state governor, Gboyega Oyetola, the former Governor could not visit the state.

Insiders at the meeting said the meeting was a reconcilation meeting to settle to lingering dispute between the two leaders.

Since the crisis started, Aregbesola has not visited the State more than once when he was in Ila-Orangun about two weeks ago to meet with Akande. However, he didn’t get to Osogbo before he left.
