Gunshots at PDP Congress as Fayose attempts to leave venue

There was pandemonium at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Southwest zonal congress on Monday evening in Osogbo, capital of Osun State.

 

The incident occurred around 6:45pm when some suspected hoodlums advanced towards the gate of the WOCDIF Event Centre where the congress was holding in an attempt to invade the premises.

Former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose was about to leave the venue when the hoodlums attempted to invade the premises.

Security operative repelled the invasion through the quick intervention of Osun Commissioner of Police, Olawale Olokode and other officers.

The security operatives shot sporadically to the air to scare away the hoodlums.

The former Governor was whisked away by security Operatives and was ferried away from the venue in a black jeep.

Security operatives whisked Fayose away in a black tinted jeep unhurt.
