How armed robbers killed five men during the attack on Wema bank in Osun

Armed robbers on Thursday invaded Okuku, Odo-Otin local government area of Osun State and attacked a branch of Wema bank in the town. It was gathered that no fewer than five persons were reportedly killed by the Invaders.

InsightMedia also gathered that several persons sustained gunshot injuries during the mayhem.

Eyewitnesses said that the armed robbers stormed the bank around 1pm and dismantled the ATM machines fixed in front of the Wema Bank.

Our sources confirmed that one of the deceased, a motorcycle operator whose name was not revealed, was said to be in front of the bank when the robbers shot him.

Another man whose identity is yet-to-be identified was said to be playing Ludo game in front of his house in the town when a stray bullet reportedly hit him in the chest.

The tree other deceased persons, according to information gathered, were by-standers. No official of the bank has been reported dead as at the time of filing this report while some of them are receiving treatment in hospital.

Spokesperson of the police, SP Yemisi Opalola confirmed the incident, stating the Commissioner of Police, Olawale Olokode has led a team of police officers to the scene to personally access the situation and probably make arrest.

Meanwhile, Osun State Police Commissioner, Olawale Olokode is said to be on the trail of the robbers.
