A 27-year-old Abdulazeez Nureini has confessed how he paid N2,650 for a car he priced at N2,650,000 in Osogbo, Osun State capital.
While being paraded by the Commissioner of Police, Olawale Olokode on Friday, Nureini said he left his house on Saturday, November 26 and moved to a car dealer where he priced a Toyota Camry. He said the seller agreed to sell the car to him at N2,650,000.
“On Friday, November 26, I left home and branched at a place where they sell car. I said I wanted to buy car and the seller and I agreed on N2,650,000. I sent N2,650 to his First Bank account and unknowingly to him, he gave me the documents of the paper and I left.
“On Friday last week, the police came to my house to arrest me and I took them to where the motor was.”
It was gathered that Nureini has taken the car to a painter in Iwo to change the colour from green to gold. He also confirmed that he had earlier that day sent N2,500 for a car of N2.5m.
Earlier in his address, the Commissioner of Police on Osun State, Olawale Olokode said, the case was reported by one Kazeem Ogunjobi reported the case and immediately the case was reported, police detectives swung into action and the said car was recovered at Iwo in a painter’s workshop of one Olayinka Bahiru who was already changing the colour of the car from green to gold colour as he was instructed by the first suspect. The suspect will be charged to court after the completion of the case.”
