Comrade Issa Aremu mni, who is the vice president of Global Industrial Union and the former  Secretary General of Textile and Garment Union of Nigeria, was on Friday celebrated by family, friends, colleagues and other well-wishers on the occasion of his 60th birthday

The celebration tagged “Celebrating Life In A Pandemic”, was held in Ilorin, Kwara State.

Garnishing the event was Novelty Cycling from Kwara State Stadium Complex to Ilorin Grammar School (IGS) Geri Alimi, Surulere Road, Ilorin, his alma mater. He had a tour round the school and after inspecting the school he commended the governor for renovating the school and several others in the state.

Comrade Aremu while assessing and responding to a question by journalists on whether he regrets stepping down for the incumbent governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, in the last gubernatorial election, and given your full support said that, “the truth is that, I do not regret stepping down for Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. I visit my alma mater, Ilorin Grammar School (IGS) to mark my 60th birthday. I see developments and renovations.”

He noted that, “we have other good things that he has done which are highly commendable. I have to acknowledge that governing is not easy in the general sense of it but the governor is doing his best, ”adding that, “I am also aware that the minimum wage has been approved. So, I do not regret stepping down for him.

He also commended employment opportunities open for teachers, further encouraging the Governor to do more acknowledging the financial predicament of the nation at this time.
