The Osun Agency for Community and Social Development Project, CSDP, a World Bank funded agency on Monday presented an Award of Excellence in Reportage to the Editor-in-Chief of Insight Media, Jare Tiamiyu.
The agency made the presentation at its its office in Osogbo on Monday.
Announcing the award, Jare Tiamiyu, who is the Chairman of Osun Online Media Practitioners Association, in a statement on his Facebook page appreciated the agency, promising to do more to give voice to the voiceless ones in the society.
He wrote, “At Insight Multi-Links Media, we vowed to always contribute our little efforts towards bringing and entrenching development at the grassroots. This is because as a person, I was born in a rural area and I lived there till I finished my primary education. So I know how rural communities are neglected and how difficult it’s to get basic amenities there.
“Today, we set our for an assignment at the Federal Polytechnic, Ede to probe the crisis that’s rocking the institution. Most especially, as lives of students have been affected as a result of management/union wrestling. After the assignment, I branched at Center for Black Culture and International Understanding, where my brother, Basit Olokuta works, for a very important discussion. Then I received a call from the Agency for Community and Social Development Project, an agency funded by the World Bank and Osun State Government. In short, our effort was recognized and the agency presented this Award of Excellent Reportage to all crew members of Insight Multi-Links Media through me.
“While this is the first for us, we are optimistic that more meritorious awards will come, as we continue to give our best towards amplifying voices of the rural dwellers across Osun, Nigeria and Africa.
“To the management of the Osun CSDP, we say thank you fit this.
Congratulations to Art Mayowa Ajayi, Israel Idowu Bamidele, Aishat Asafa, Ayanwale Fatimah, Itz Teslim Tiamiyu, Ademola Shoberu, Hon Sakariyah Saheed Opeyemi and other reporters. This is ours!”
