It was a jubilating moment at Oloso, Erin-Osun and Ilobu as a non-governmental organization, Hope-Alive Charity Initiative put smiles on the faces of aged and widows in the three communities.

The gesture who was this year’s edition of annual charity outreach programme of the organization, was aimed at improving the lives of the less privileged in the society.

Part of the items distributed are semovita, beans, salt and garri.

Speaking at the programme, the Coordinator of the organization, Comrade Quadri Adebayo said the programme was to ensure that those people who have nothing or little are given food items to ensure that they live a better lives during this coronavirus pandemic.

“We’re here to fulfil our yearly vow of reaching out to the less privileged in the society. We have successfully put smiles on the faces of over 200 widows and aged in three communities of Ilobu, Erin-Osun and Oloso,” Adebayo said.

“We believe there can only be peaceful coexistence when others who are not bouyant enough are catered for and we’re here to play our parts.”

The coordinator appreciated the those who he described as the “pillars behind the organization”, stating that their worthy contributions helped in making the project a reality.

“We want to appreciate everyone that has supported us in this project. Their worthy contributions helped in realization of this project. In fact, they are the pillars of this organization. Worthy of mention is Barrister Jare Adebisi, the Deputy Chief of Staff (General Administration) to Governor Gboyega Oyetola.”

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke with InsightMedia appreciated the gesture of Hope-Alive Charity Initiative. They described the food items as timely and significantly packaged.
