JUST IN: Osun Govt approves Àmòtékùn bill

The Osun State Government has endorsed the bill seeking to legalised proposed creation of the Western Nigeria Security Network, Amotekun, in the state.

The State Executive Council gave the approval during an emergency meeting at the council chambers on Thursday in Osogbo, the state capital.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ismail Omipidan, disclosed this in a statement.

He said “Osun State Executive Council had emergency meeting today to consider just one item and that was the Amotekun draft bill.
“Amotekun draft bill has been endorsed by the State Executive Council and the state Council sent it to the House of Assembly for further considerations.”
