Angry mob have continued to damage private properties in Osun State as the home of notable offices and homes of political office holders have been vandalized and looted.
Some of those affected are the former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Lasun Yusuff; the Senator representing Osun Central, Ajibola Basiru; Honourable representing Irepodun/Orolu state Constituency, Nasirudeen Olateju; and the Chairman of Irepodun local government, Ilobu, Abayomi Oyedeji.
The youths, most on motorcycles, stormed the Constituency office of Oyewo and Lasun both located at Oroki Estate in Osogbo as early as 8:30am on Saturday. Some items carted away include fertilizers, spraying machines and other items.
After leaving the places, the hoodlums moved to the residence of Senator Basiru located inside the GRA in Osogbo and vandalized the apartment. They were said to made way with different items.
At Lasun’s country home, the invaders, wielding cutlasses and other dangerous weapons, carted away bags of fertilizers, motorcycles, grinding machines, sprayers and lots more.
Oyewo’s residence at Woru was not also spared as it was vandalized.
After leaving Lasun’s residence, the mob moved to the Irepodun local government Secretariat in Ilobu. They vandalized the council Complex, carting away furniture, air conditioning and other materials.
The house of the local government chairman, Abayomi Oyedeji located at Olowopooku estate was not also spared. It was gathered that the Hoodlums vandalized the edifice completely, carting away electronics, furniture, generators, cutlery and other items.
At Olateju’s house, the youths also made way with furniture, matresses, air conditioners, and other equipment. They also vandalized the apartment, destroying the building located at Ojutu area of Ilobu.
Our Correspondent gathered that the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Irepodun local government office was also looted completely. Chairs, ballot boxes and other materials were carted away.
Also the Ilobu Vehicle Inspection Officer office, all documents including plate numbers have been carted away. Generator also taken by the invaders.
