Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, has urged clerics to offer special prayers on Friday for a peaceful and smooth transition of power to the incoming administration in the state.

According to a statement released on Friday by Muhammad Garba, the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Ganduje, has urged clerics to offer special prayers for a peaceful and smooth transition of power to the incoming administration in the state.

The Governor also commended the people of the state for their support of his administration, which enabled the implementation of commendable development programs. He emphasised the need to consolidate the policies that guarantee peace in the state through fervent prayers.

Recall that Alhaji Abba Yusuf of the New Nigeria People Party won the Kano State election, defeating the All Progressives Congress candidate, Nasiru Gawuna. Yusuf is set to be sworn in as the new governor on Monday.

On Wednesday, Ganduje presented the 2023 transition report to Yusuf during a brief meeting at the Kano Government House, Ante Chamber Hall. Ganduje, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Usman Alhaji, reiterated his readiness to ensure a seamless transition of power.

Ganduje urged the incoming administration to carefully study the transition report and provide feedback on any areas that need improvement. He also expressed appreciation to the outgoing government transition committee members for producing three volumes of the report, which covers all sectors of the state.
