The chairman of the Lakes State Parks and Garages Management Committee, Musiliu ‘MC Oluomo’ Akinsanya, has denied imposing the purchase of stickers bearing the photo of All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate Bola Tinubu on operators of commercial tricycles known as —Keke Napep.

He made it known Tuesday in a video on his Instagram handle.

The stickers also bear the photos of the president, vice-presidential candidate Kashim Shettima, and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State.

Mr. Akinsanya was reacting to a trending video showing a yet-to-be-identified man perceived to be a member of the LSPGM forcing the purchase of the stickers on a tricycle driver.

The unnamed driver in the video, which began circulating on social media on Tuesday, insisted he “won’t pay a penny.” He also said that he would rather park his trike than pay N500 for the sticker.

In the statement that followed his video, Mr. Akinsanya said he was surprised to see the trending video.

“I have been brought to my attention once again by a video clip circulating online showing an altercation between two people regarding a decal,” the statement read.

“I was surprised to see people attaching the video to me and they were also quick to say that it was a campaign fee to support the election of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

“Naturally, I would have just ignored knowing that it is the work of the naysayers. Being in an electoral session, I also know their malicious intentions and the cheap political objective they intend to achieve with the video. However, I am forced for the sake of clarity to set the record straight.

“I did not know anything about said sticker, and I did not sanction the sale either. I would appreciate additional information on where the incident occurred so we can conduct a thorough investigation.”

He reiterated that the group is against anything that could “hinder the free flow of business activities or bring hardship to our people.”

He added that Tinubu has people who are willing to finance his campaign “and that money would not come from me or my office.”
