Managing Director designate of the Niger Delta Development Commission; Chief Dr Samuel Ogbuku has said , the incoming board will take development to rural communities .

Speaking to journalist after his screening by the National Assembly, He said ” I cannot thank President Buhari enough for trusting us to pilot the affairs of the Commission at this point in time, the mandate of the NDDC is to develop the region and for me , that will be our focus, as we will take development to the Niger Delta people especially those in rural communities because many communities still lack basic amenities and it’s our responsibility to give it to them ”

He further stressed the need to effectively engage relevant stakeholders as they play a vital role in the actualization of the mandate given to new board. ” Immediately we assume office, we will engage Stakeholders in the region and get to hear their challenges first hand , so we know how best to tackle these challenges . We will run an all inclusive Government as the Elders, women and youths will be part of what we are doing and will do”

Ogbuku further said ” I am not promising that we can or will solve absolutely all the problems of Niger Deltans , but God helping us, we will give and do our very best , so that at the end of the day, we would have put smiles on the faces of our people. All we need is the belief and commitment of all concerned parties as everyone has a major stake and input to make ”

He finally thanked the National Assembly for the seemless screening process and assured of smooth working relationship especially with the committees on NDDC.
