The Nigerian movie industry, Nollywood has lost another veteran actor, Ernest Asuzu, to the cold hands of death.

According to a report by Vanguard, the Nollywood movie star passed away on Tuesday, January 26, after months of sickness.

Similarly, the president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Emeka Rollas confirmed the news of the actor’s death in a brief chat with Punch News.

In his words: Yes, Ernest Asuzu is dead. I am trying to reach his wife to get the full details. I will get back to you.”

It would be recalled that months ago, the actor became a trending topic on social media after after a Nigerian man identified as Bolingo2014 on Instagram shared a video of himself and the actor.

Bolingo claimed that he saw the actor begging for money on the roadside at Oke-Afa in Isolo area of the state. He alleged that the actor became this way after he suffered from a stroke. The deceased actor began his acting career in the ’90s and rose to prominence after he starred in the 1997 Nollywood classic, ‘Rituals’.

He was a top gun in the movie industry until he came down with a stroke in 2015 and it affected his speech. He was also bedridden for three years.
