The students of the National Open University of Nigeria, Osogbo Study Centre is set to hold a Youth Summit and Entrepreneurship seminar. In a statement issued last Friday by the NOUN STUDENTS FORUM President of the centre, Mr. Oladimeji A. Opeyemi, he states that the summit is tagged “Youths; the catalyst of social change”, and it is aimed at transforming the lives of the youths particularly the students, and to engage them intellectually to living a purposeful life.

He said; “The summit is part of the numerous programmes to commemorate this semester Students’ Week, and it will feature resourceful speakers from all walks of life. The summit is scheduled to hold on Tuesday, 28th of November 2017 at the University Main Auditorium by 09:am

“Guest speakers expected at the summit includes the Honourable member representing Ife North at the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Tunde Olatunji, and host of others

Other programs to commemorate the Students’ Week are as follows;

1. An Oratory Contest among the students with the topic “The Social media: a Tool for Social Engineering or a Weapon of Social Destruction”, the grand-finale of the contest which is scheduled to hold on the same day of the Summit, Tuesday, 28th of November 2017.

2. “Back to School Programme”; a social event aimed at remembering the secondary school days. It is scheduled to hold on Wednesday, 29nd of November 2017.

3. Sporting activities like Director’s Cup, Taekwondo Game and Table Tennis, commences on Thursday, 30th of November 2017.

4. Excursion to some historic sites in Badagry Lagos State, which is scheduled to hold on Tuesday, 5th of December to Wednesday, 6th of December 2017.

5. 6th Edition of the Mr. and Miss NOUN Competition, scheduled to hold on Friday, 15th of December 2017.

6. Election Manifestoes/Presidential Debate proposed to hold on Monday, 18th of December and Students Forum Election on Tuesday, 19th of December, 2017.

7. Dinner/Award Day together with the Handing-Over Ceremony to the Newly Elected Executives, which is scheduled to hold Wednesday, 17th of January 2017.
