Asisat Oshoala was on the scoresheet as Barcelona Femeni were crowned the champions of the 2022/23 women’s Spanish Primera Division.

The Blaugrana secured their fourth consecutive league triumph after a 3-0 thumping of Sporting de Huelva at Camp Nou on Sunday.

Lala Codina gave the Calatan side the lead in the 39th minute before Jana Fenanadez doubled the lead in the 63rd minute.

Oshoala was brought on in the 64th minute, and she wrapped up the sweet occasion with a brilliant goal deep into stoppage time.

The club won the game with four games left to play and 13 points ahead of the closest challengers Real Madrid.

Culers have won all 26 games in the league this season, scoring 108 and conceding five. The team is poised to finish the season unbeaten in the league for the second consecutive season.

Their domination of the Spanish Primera division garnered the club eight league titles in the last 11 years.

Oshoala has enjoyed a spell of success with the club since joining in 2019. She’s won four league trophies and became the first African woman to win the women’s UEFA champions league in 2021.

Last season, the Nigerian scored 20 goals in 19 league appearances to become the first African woman to win the highest goalscorer gong in the Spanish Primera Division.
