…declares readiness to support the Governor for another term
…let’s do it together – Oyetola urges the Islamic organization

The Tijjaniyyah Muslim Society of Nigeria has described the achievements of Governor Gboyega Oyetola in the last three years as outstanding, stating that the organization is ready to support the Governor for his second term.

This is as the Governor called on the Islamic organization to join hands with his administration to move the State forward, stating that he is a promise keeper, who always reward good deeds with good.

The organization said this in Osogbo on Saturday during the inauguration of Tijjaniyyah Grassroots Mobilisation and Empowerment Initiative of Nigeria, TIGMEIN, Osun State chapter.

In his welcome address, Southwest coordinator of TIGMEIN, Professor O. S. Amuda said the Islamic organisation is happy with the achievements of Governor Gboyega, describing the Governor as outstanding in the area of welfare of citizens and residents of the State.

Professor Amuda, who is the Secretary of TIGMEIN Board of Trustees, said the organization has over 100,000 members across Osun State, with 6,640 Executives members from State to unit level. He said the organization is ready to work with the Governor towards realization of his second term bid.

Amuda said, “We have respect for our leaders and they are the ones that control our activities. If they tell us to support anyone, we throw out weight behind the person. That’s the spirit.

“We really appreciate your efforts in Osun State. At least, you’re not “Baba Hafsa” as it used to be in the past. We get full information about your outstanding performance in terms of welfare of all. We’re aware of the infrastructures you’re putting in place and we appreciate that.

We believe only Allah puts people in power and he has put you there as Governor of Osun State. We believe he will do the remaining ones in front of you. We are ready to work with you. All we need is assurance that our group will not be let down. We have several graduates up to PhD holders, we want then empowered too. We hope to discuss further on this.” Amuda said.

Addressing the group, Governor Gboyega Oyetola said said he’s ready to work with TIGMEIN across the State, asking the leadership and members of the organization to join him towards building the State.

Oyetola said, “the task given to me is simple. Let’s do it together and I can assure you that we’ll enjoy it together. I’m a promise keeper and I will never say something that I won’t fulfill. Let’s join hands together and move our State forward.

“I appreciate your comment on our modest achievements in the past three years and I can assure you that we’ll do more.”

Present at the event were Tijjaniyyah leaders led by Sheikh Sirajudeen Inyass from Kaola in Senegal.
